Summer Photoshoot with Kirsten

Hi, this is Kirsten. :) The day after Rebecca's photoshoot, Christina did one with me (and my cat, Missy), and finally got to editing and resizing the photos. Hope you like them!

Even though I'm not as photogenic as Rebecca, Christina thinks they turned out pretty well; how 'bout you?!

A Quick Heads-up

Hello, Faithful Followers! Woot woot, 25! As some of you know, we have a lofty goal of reaching 100 followers someday and then having a big giveaway/contest! However, to help us reach our goal, we decided to have smaller giveaways at each of the different milestones: 25, 50, and 75! Which means that we're going to have a giveaway! Our sponsor will be Daisy Chains, which is actually Christina's shop. :)  Because of all the orders she is still trying to finish for her shop, she hasn't had a chance to make the dress we are giving away; but in a few days we should be able to put up pictures and begin the giveaway.

Doll Wardrobe 2013 Fashion Design Challenge

Hi Everyone! Wow, 23 followers!! Thank you so much!
Sorry we haven't been posting lately, but Christina's been working on her first entry for The Doll Wardrobe 2013 Fashion Design Challenge. She had an idea at the very beginning, but wasn't sure if she'd be able to finish it in time. However, today is the day entries are due, and we just sent ours in!! We can't wait to see it posted.
In the meantime, here are pictures of the outfit she created.

 

 

What do you think? She modified Liberty Jane patterns for the shirt, shorts, and shoes; and modified a pattern from Oliver & S for the hat.

Happy 4th!!

Hope you're all having an awesome 4th!! After a fun picnic lunch, we're going to see Despicable Me 2, and later tonight we're going to the park to watch fireworks! Hopefully we'll get some firework pics to share with you!

Make A Hammock Swing ~ Sewing

It is hot, hot, hot here! Even when we had rain this weekend it was hot! (the air, not the rain). When it's warm outside (it's a little too hot now) we like to hang out in the shade and read, eat popsicles, do nothing, etc. Us dollies can't always sit on the grass because it's often wet (from the sprinklers) so Christina made us a Hammock Swing so that we can be comfy in the shade!

Supplies:
Fabric
Twine
Safety Pin

Cut a piece of fabric 12 inches by 15 inches

On the 15 inch sides, make 1/4 inch hems (turned twice)

On the short sides, turn the edge under 1/4 inch from the edge

Turn it under a second time, 1/2 inch from the folded edge

Sew down both sides, creating casings for the twine

Thread the twine through the end of the safety pin

Thread the safety pin (with the twine trailing behind) through the casing and bring it out the other side.



Remove the safety pin and pull the short end of the twine through a little ways. Gather the casing edge to about 4 1/2 inches

Making a small loop tie the ends together and trim off the short end.

Now tie your swing to a tree branch, a bar, anything that will hold it up like a swing.

Tada!!

You can sit upright and swing or read a book...

Or you can lay back and relax!
