Make Bulletin Boards ~ Craft

Yay, a craft!! This week, Christina bought some cork for the sandals in the last post. She had a lot left over and thought that it would make darling bulletin boards for us!

Supplies:
Sheet of cork (found at craft stores)
Ribbon
Scrapbook paper
Glue dots

Measure the area in your doll house that you will be mounting your boards in. I had about 11 inches to work with so I chose to go with two 5x5 inch squares. You can do whatever you want for your board, 1 rectangle, 4 squares, 2 squares, etc. It's up to you. I'll be telling you how to make yours just like mine, but be creative and make up your own designs and patterns!

Place a ribbon across on of your boards in the position you prefer.

Turn your board over and secure the ends with glue dots.

Add as many ribbons as you like, making sure to create several crossing points.

On your second board, use pieces of scrapbook paper cut into fun shapes to decorate it. Attach with glue dots.

The two together

To fill your boards, print out little posters from the internet. My posters say: "There is always always always something to be thankful for. Find it" "Keep Calm and Play Dolls" "What a lovely day" "I believe in Christ like I believe in the sun - not because I can see it but by it I can see everything else - C.S. Lewis" "Keep Calm and Sew On" I also printed out some photos of my dolls after I took the pictures for this craft (we were having printer trouble).

For the ribbon board, place the papers behind the ribbons. On the other one, use a little piece of tape folded over so that you can change them around.

Mount your boards on the wall. The cork that I bought came with mounting pads that stick to the wall.

Tada!

So, did you like it? We're pretty excited about our new boards. :)

So Sorry - What We've Been Up To

Wow....we last posted over three weeks ago!! Aaaaahhhh we are so sorry! But, we're back, so you can forget the horror of the past three weeks without us. Nah, we're kidding, but we do feel pretty bad. Anyway, last night Christina sent in her second outfit entry for the Fashion Design Challenge that we told you about last month and we though ya'll might like to see it. :) (Beware, picture heavy post!)

What do you think? Personally, we love it!! Christina designed it to be a travel outfit that can be worn sightseeing or relaxing on the beach! Unfortunately, we don't have a beach around here, so we had to make do with the pretty yard.
More posts should be coming up this week, we promise!! And we will try so hard to keep that promise!
Alright, that's all for now!

25 Follower Giveaway

Wheeee! 25 28 followers! and a giveaway! Our sponsor is Daisy Chains, which is actually Christina's shop. :)  First off, we're going to do a little interview with Christina so that you can get to know her better!

R & K: How did you get into American Girl dolls?
C: When I was about 6 or 7 we got a catalogue in the mail, and of course I immediately wanted a doll. I had several baby dolls already, but these dolls were completely different! I really wanted Samantha, but I never actually told my parents! I ended up getting a JLY that looks a lot like Samantha the Christmas that I was 7. When I was 10 I bought Kirsten with all of the money that I had.

R & K: How did you start sewing?
C: I had wanted to learn to sew ever since I was fairly young, but it wasn't until I was 10 that I got the chance. I took classes at an after school 4H program, and then the next year we started a 4H club for sewing. Once I started, I never stopped!

R & K: What got you to sell your doll clothes?
C: I made sundresses for my dolls and then my mom suggested that I sell them at our Farmers Market on Kids Day, a day that kids get a booth for free. I did this 4 different times, and had great success! This year, however, I no longer counted as a kid, so we decided to open an Etsy shop, and it's been awesome!

Thanks Christina! Don't forget to check out her shop, Daisy Chains! Now, onto the giveaway!

Christina made us a fun Hawaiian sundress that comes with a pretty shell necklace!
